"I believe the fundamentals of learning remain as true today as they were when I was in school. I think the Scholastic Book Program is a wonderful way to keep the fundamentals of reading fun and educational. I remember when I was younger I was not fortunate enough to be able to purchase books that I really wanted. I liked to read but finding free books from the school library that I really enjoyed was hard to come by. My son really enjoys ordering books and it keeps him interested in reading. I am fortunate enough to be able to buy these types of books for him and it makes me happy to see him get excited about his book order. This in turn got me thinking about schools and other kids that might not be able to get books. Then I saw Mrs Hull post on Facebook about helping her class gather funds or sponsoring a child for a free book from Scholastic. I thought it would be great to sponsor the entire class and reached out to my co-workers at the Police Department. Every person at the department chipped in and was able to get books for the class. We are proud to support the education of our future." -Police Officer Williams
