SAGES Artwork on Display @ John Michael Kohler Arts Center

On Tuesday, November 9th, our Third and Sixth grade classes at SAGES visited the John Kohler Michael Arts Center (JMKAC) in Sheboygan. While there, they viewed the art exhibit, “Regional Response to Albert and Louise Zahn” with a docent-led tour and art activities.

This field trip was part of the JMKAC Teacher Fellowship Program 2022: Albert and Louise Zahn. This program partners with schools and the art center to bring JMKAC’s art exhibitions and collections to the classrooms! The Teacher Fellowship includes a field trip, a collaborative art lesson in our school, a published lesson with photographs of finished work on their website, and our own art exhibition in the Community Gallery in January at JMKAC!

In order to help inspire a collaborative art lesson for the Community Gallery, Renee Wahleen from Marsh Haven Nature Center visited our school to present a Wild Birds of Prey Program on November 7th. Her presentation included a live owl and artifacts. SAGES students will learn about owls and Albert Zahn’s artwork while creating their own pieces to be displayed at the John Kohler Michael Arts Center!
