Following finalist interviews, the Waupun Area School District Board of Education is very pleased to announce Mr. Steven K. Hill as the new superintendent of the Waupun Area School District starting July 1, 2018.
Board President Bill Bruins commented that “the signing of Steve Hill begins another chapter in the life of the Waupun Area School District that follows an exciting six years with outgoing superintendent Tonya Olson and signals that the upward potential of the District is very high with the appointment of Steve Hill.”
Mr. Hill has been principal of Woodworth Middle School in the Fond du Lac School District for 13 years, where he is reputed for recruiting, selecting and developing talent in assistant principals and teachers, improving student achievement, and nurturing a culture where teachers and students look forward to coming to school each day.
Prior to joining the Fond du Lac School District, Mr. Hill was assistant principal, athletic director, and summer school director in the Hartford Jt. #1 School District for five years; and special education teacher in the Erin School District for five years.
Mr. Hill completed his superintendent licensure from Viterbo University, LaCrosse; and his director of instruction and special education and pupil services licenses from Edgewood College, Madison. He earned his B.S. degree from UW-Oshkosh in special education and his M.S. degree from UW-Milwaukee in administrative leadership.
In addition, Mr. Hill is a master level instructor in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, a silver level recipient for Positive Behavior Interventions for Students, and trained in the LEAN principles for the continuous improvement of student learning.
Mr. Hill was introduced and his two-year contract was approved at the regular Waupun Area School Board meeting on Monday, June 25, 2018.
