Waupun, WI July 25, 2018

The Waupun Area School District (WASD) Board of Education is seeking applications from City of Waupun residents who are interested in serving on the School Board to fill a newly vacant Board position. The Board vacancy is due to the recent resignation of Glen Wilson.

WASD’s Board has designated seats. Wilson filled a City of Waupun seat, therefore only City of Waupun residents, age 18 or older are eligible to apply.  The selected individual will fill the position until the next general election in April, 2019.

To fill this vacancy, the WASD Board of Education will use the process outlined by Board policy as follows:

·      Interested City of Waupun residents should submit a letter of interest, biography and resume to the attention of Steve Hill, District Administrator, 950 Wilcox Street  Waupun WI 53963.

·      Application materials must be received by Noon on Friday, August 10 to be considered for the position.

Contingent on the Board receiving applications from interested individuals, the Board will make its selection by majority vote of the existing Board. It may choose to interview candidates. The selected applicant will start their service term at the business meeting on Monday, August 27.

If the vacancy cannot be filled within sixty (60) days of the date on which the vacancy first exists, the vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the President of the Board of Education, Bill Bruins.
