REACH Waupun brings poverty awareness and relief to the community of Waupun, through relationships and education, allowing youth and their families to REACH their individual highest potential.

At REACH, we strive to break down the barriers that can hold back the youth in the Waupun community. We also want to be a place where all community members can go to utilize their talents and gifts to give back to Waupun!

Testimonials from REACH Mentors

"I already can see the benefits that it will do not only for my mentee but also for myself. I find the time to be fun, challenging and one of my favorite times of the week. It’s so refreshing to be surrounded by all of those eager eyes and bright smiles. I truly believe that I benefit/learn from her just as much as she does from me.

The reason I decided to help with mentoring was because it guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter. Sometimes families are busy and kids just need someone to be there for them to play games or just listen if needed. If I can take the time to make a difference in a child’s life how can I pass that up? If we can help them make positive changes in the early years of their school experience it will bode well for the remainder of their years in school. Unfortunately, the schools cannot do this work alone."

"I have become a mentor for REACH. My child is such a blessing to me. All it takes is 30 minutes at the least to give to a student that needs someone to be a positive influence in their life. My heart is full being with this child. My hope is that many more adults consider being a mentor to children in our community!"

"I have found the mentoring experience to be one of growth for myself and hopefully the student I have been interacting with. The relationship building has been slow as she learns to trust that I want to be there for her and I enjoy our time together. It has been rewarding to see her open up and initiate conversation. She no longer wants our time to end but will stay engaged till we wrap up. I enjoy the challenge of being creative as I suggest activities for our weekly visits while encouraging her to take the initiative on suggesting an activity for us.

It is a positive experience!"
